Annually, the TAAM WWTUG (Total Airspace and Airport Modeler World Wide User Group) is hosted in various locations around the globe. This annual event is a forum between Jeppesen TAAM development and product management, and the world wide base of TAAM users. Just as importantly, the event is a opportunity for our customers to network and share their current work with the wider user base.
From September 28 - October 01 2010, the WWTUG was hosted by Boeing, Seattle. Over 30 delegates from worldwide ANSP's, Consultancies and Airlines attended the event to share their current work using TAAM for fast time simulation projects. The first day consisted of annual reports from the Jeppesen TAAM Development and Product Management team, detailing the latest features and enhancements which were added to the product since the last meeting. The following days were filled with TAAM User presentations, with topics ranging from fast time simulation in the Future Airport Capacity analysis tasks to the current simulation research efforts at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. The final day gave time for the Jeppesen Atlanta consulting group to present a workshop on the implementation of Flow Management in fast time simulation models.
The best presentation award, as voted by the users was a tie between representatives from Noblis and NAVCANDA. Noblis presented their work in fast time simulation modeling of ground communications delays, where NAVCANADA presented their Integrated Approach to Oceanic ATM. In addition to the meetings and presentations, a series of aviation related events was organised for the group. A visit to the Everett Boeing factory as well as a tour and dinner at the Museum of Flight allowed us to have a lot of fun while still learning and sharing ideas and interests in the fields of aviation and air traffic management. The TAAM team would like to thank Boeing for their hospitality and flawless organisation of the fantastic event.
See you next year!
