The Boeing Company has announced that they will be hosting the 2015 Worldwide TAAM User Group Meeting in Seattle, USA.

Following an online Poll, Simulation Specialist Jean-Mari Rossouw from Air Traffic and Navigation Services (ATNS) South Africa has been selected as the 2015 User Group chairperson. Jean-Mari will be working closely with Phil Trautman of Boeing to plan what I am sure will be an excellent annual meeting. I look forward to attending and hope to see many of you there.

Dates will be announced by Jean-Mari shortly, but the event will be sometime during the month of October.

The 2013 Worldwide TAAM User Group Meeting in Cape Town concluded last Friday - thanks to ATNS for hosting and all participants for the productive discussions and interesting presetations.  The 2013 WWTUG presentations are now available on the TAAM support web site

The dates and location of the 2013 WWTUG meeting have been finalized.  Please see the below message from Mr. Jan Van Antwerp, WWTUG Chairman.

You are invited to register your  attendance for the 2013 WWTUG using the following link - http://www.atns.co.za/world-wide-taam-user-group-meeting

This web page will provide you with all the details regarding your hotel reservations and airport transfer costs.  Watch the video clip of the Hotel for more details regarding reservations, look and feel of the rooms and some other stuff.

Google Earth will display the Hotel and Conference centre location. I would suggest that you finalise the hotel reservation as soon as possible, to get the best view!!!

Keep an eye on the ATNS web page and the Jeppessen web site, for more details and announcements.  If you experience any problems accessing this web site, or, have any queries, feel free to contact me on my mobile or via e-mail (see details at the bottom), or, contact Anna Sanfilippo via e-mail – This email address is being protected from spambots. When booking your airline tickets, please keep in mind that not all international airlines operate direct flights to Cape Town.  The only other port of entry will be the O.R. Tambo  International Airport, from which you will have to, go through customs, get your luggage, walk to the domestic departure hall( up stairs), book in again, go through security to get to your “linked” flight to Cape Town.  Ensure enough lay-over time ( +- 3 hours) to catch the next flight, (+- 2h15) out to Cape Town.  Please note that the later in the day you  arrive, the less flights will be available to Cape Town and you might have to “lay-over”.  If you arrive with KLM( +-19H15 SAST), you will be too late for any linked flights to Cape Town and you will have to lay-over one night.  There is a Hotel at the airport for that purpose.

Here are a  list  of the recommended domestic airlines you can use for your linked flight to Cape Town:-

South African Airways  - http://www.flysaa.com/za/en/,

Comair – http://www.comair.co.za/,

Mango Airlines - http://www.flymango.com/

and Kulula - http://www.kulula.com

In flight meals, snacks and drinks are for sale on most of these flights, thus have some South African Currency(300.00 ZAR) available for that.

Although a bit early,  please advise me (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) and Mr Anthony Weatherington (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.) whether you want to do a presentation.  It does not have to be a TAAM related topic at all, and can be of any subject, such as “Please take off your hat”.  Remember, there will be a prize for the best presentation.

The cut of date for registration to attend the WWTUG and booking a presentation slot will be the 30th September 2013.

If I have missed someone in the addressee list, please advise soonest.

I am excited and looking forward to meet you in Cape Town.

The  Chairman,

Jan Van Antwerp
